Seven Tips For Summer Season

Summer is here and the tourist season is ramping up on the South Beach. Here are seven simple tips to remember about summer on the south beach.

1. Three hour parking will be enforced at the Marina. Parking spaces along Westhaven Drive and side streets are marked Three Hour Limit. If you need to park longer please use the public lots on Nyhus Street.

2. Beachgoers should use precaution at Westport Light State Park. Unstable sand cliffs could collapse. No digging in the cliffs.

3. Beach Fires must be 100 feet from all sand dunes. Please be aware of any burn bans issued by Grays Harbor county.

4. Beach trail etiquette. Use your voice or bell to let people know you are passing.

5. Recreate Responsibly. There are no lifeguards. Beware of rip currents and pay attention to the tides. If in doubt, don’t go out. Dangerous currents can occur near the jetty.

6. Fireworks are NOT allowed in the city or on the beaches of Westport. There will be a professional fireworks display at the Westport Marina.

7. Camping is in designated areas only- camping is NOT allowed in public parking lots.
