A Taste of the Pacific Northwest: Westport Wine Festival

The Pacific Northwest’s diverse microclimate has proven fruitful for the Washington and Oregon wine industry. While most of the wine growing regions are several hours from Westport, locally owned Westhaven Wines will feature more than a dozen boutique wineries from Washington and Oregon at the 3rd Annual Westport Wine Festival on July 20th.

Westhaven Wines owners Casey Watkins and Jessica Baldridge, both nurses by trade, have enjoyed the creativity of being entrepreneurs since opening Westhaven Wines in 2020. They especially enjoy the research and discovery involved in bringing exceptional wines to Westport. The Westport Wine Festival is a natural extension of their passion for wine tasting. “We just wanted to bring a fun event to Westport and share our love of wine with visitors and the community,” says Casey.

Wine Festival tickets are $50 and include a commemorative souvenir wine glass and 10 tastings, which include options for beer and cider as well. A free shuttle service will be available, serving areas from Ocosta to Grayland. Additionally, attendees can enjoy a 20% discount on cases of wine purchased at the festival.

Washington is known for its diverse range of wine varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay, while Oregon is celebrated for its Pinot Noir. Both states are highly regarded by the wine industry for their commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Westhaven Wines, located at the Marina, boasts a cozy coastal interior featuring a cut wine bottle chandelier, a live edge wine rack, tumbled glass candles, and an impressive collection of whites and reds. The casual, inviting atmosphere extends to the sidewalk, where ocean-inspired outdoor tables, nautical rope, and planters filled with flowers and succulents create a welcoming environment.

The Westport Wine Festival mirrors this casual vibe. Set on the street in front of the shop, the festival will include food vendors such as Shoalwater Bay oysters, the Mermaid’s famous clam chowder and cheesy bread, and Westhaven Wines own charcuterie cups. Shopping vendors, live music, and a variety of wines will surely please wine lovers at this one day event.

Tickets can be purchases on-line or in person at Westhaven Wines.
