Siren Steakhouse Soft Opening This Weekend

The South Beach community has been eagerly awaiting the grand opening of The Siren Oceanside Steakhouse, and the wait is finally over. On Friday, February 7th, at 11 a.m., the doors will officially open, bringing new life to the space once known as The Islander. The excitement is evident—within just 24 hours of announcing their soft opening on Facebook, The Siren received over 130 likes and according to the owner, over 200 requests for future reservation requests.

Located next to The Saltwater Inn, The Siren will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., serving both lunch and dinner. The restaurant aims to offer an upscale casual dining experience- think date nights, family dinners, and special occasions.

Leading this culinary venture is Chef David Contner, who serves as both owner and executive chef. Originally from Las Vegas, Contner first came to Westport 20 years ago to work on a fishing boat—a job he recalls as challenging and full of seasickness. His career has since taken him across the country, with ten years as an executive chef in Las Vegas, eight years owning a restaurant in Michigan, and more recently, opening 16 BJ’s Brewhouses nationwide. Now a Grayland resident, Contner is ready to bring a fresh new taste to the South Beach.

“When I saw someone had bought the old Islander but only opened the hotel, I called the owners and told them opening restaurants happens to be my vocation,” Contner said.

His vision for The Siren combines quality dining with a touch of entertainment. Guests can expect fresh, carefully crafted dishes, some even prepared tableside. “If you order the alfredo pasta, the server will deliver it on a cart with a giant wheel of Parmigiano, which will be lit on fire and prepared right in front of you,” Contner explained. “There is nothing coming frozen from a bag here. We make everything from scratch.”

The menu offers a broad price range, with entrees from $18 to $50, as well as a children’s menu. In addition to a full bar, The Siren will feature signature cocktails, and even a unique blue champagne.

With a blend of culinary expertise, interactive dining, and a nod to local history—menu items named after Neddie Rose— The Siren Oceanside Steakhouse is ready to open their doors to the South Beach dining scene.
